Saline Primary School

Saline Primary School is the only primary school in Saline and was initially built in 1875, with additional builds being added over subsequent years. The school serves the villages of Saline and Steelend plus numerous farming families within our catchment area. The aspect of the school and the education experiences on offer, are enhanced by the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and by the Ochil Hills to the North. The majority of our pupils walk to school with the children from Steelend and the farming community travelling by bus

Saline & Blaringone Parish Church

Saline and Blaringone Parish Chirch serves the people of our West Fife rural parish comprising the villages of Saline, Blairingone, and Steelend, together with other settlements and farms. It now linked with the Parish of Tulliallan and Kincardine. We are led in worship by Rev Alec Shuttleworth.

There are historical references to a church being established in Saline before 1249, but the oldest known church building remains are of a church in the old graveyard in Bridge Street dating from 1640 or possibly earlier. That building was demolished after completion of the current church in 1811.

Saline First Responders

For those of you who are wondering what First Responders are – here is a short explanation. First Responders are volunteers who are trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend medical emergencies within the “footprint” or local area. It is therefore hoped that with well trained, well equipped Responders we will be able to reduce potential deaths/complications within our community.

If you wish to find out more about our local community groups either visit their Facebook page link or click on the image to visit their website.
